GOSPEL AND HYMNS CONCERT AT NORTHWEST CHRISTIAN COLLEGE

 

EUGENE, Ore. – April 17, 2007-Northwest Christian College-

 

On Tuesday April 17, 2007, Northwest Christian College (NCC) will host its annual spring concert titled “Gospel and Hymns Concert.” The concert, directed by Melissa Stock, will feature traditional and contemporary music by the NCC Community Choir, the NCC Chamber Ensemble, and the college’s touring ensemble VIRTUE. Also featured will be local recording artists the Stock Brothers. The concert will be held at First Baptist Church of Eugene. It begins at 7:30 P.M, and is free to the public. The First Baptist Church of Eugene is located at 3550 Fox Meadow Rd, Eugene, Oregon 97408.

 

On Tuesday April 10 at 7:00 P.M., a dress rehearsal will be open to reporters and media crews.

 

Melissa Stock, adjunct professor of music and director of VIRTUE, is in her fourth year of teaching at Northwest Christian College.  Prior to coming to Northwest Christian, Melissa was the director of evening service instrumental worship for the Crystal Cathedral in Southern California.  Stock also has worked as a freelance orchestrater, arranger, accompanist, and worship consultant.  In 2005, she worked on the set of “The Sisters” as a piano coach, the hand double for Erika Christensen, and she recorded the rough tracks for the film. She is currently working with Patricia Trockey and the Lane County Sheriff Department on producing an inspirational concert to be held in part with their annual fundraising for the National Cancer Society this summer.

 

Northwest Christian College offers: T.E.S.O.L. certification (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), Associate of the Arts in general studies, and Associate of Science in pre-professional health science. Bachelor of Arts degrees are offered in: accounting, Bible and Christian ministry studies, business administration, communication, global studies, human services, humanities, interdisciplinary studies (individualized), music industry, music ministry, psychology, social sciences, and teacher education. Bachelor of Science degrees are offered in: computer and information Science (C.I.S.) and exercise science. NCC offers graduate degrees in professional counseling (M.A.), school counseling (M.A.), and business administration (M.B.A.). The Professional Studies Program offers Bachelor of Arts degrees in accounting, management, management information systems (M.I.S.), and health care administration.
