Grants
Grants are gift aid (which do not need to be repaid) from federal, state, or College sources. They are awarded to students on the basis of need.
Scholarships
Scholarships are gift funds, based on high academic achievement or special talent, that do not have to be repaid.
Loans
Loans are borrowed funds which must be repaid, with interest, after you are no longer a student. As college costs climb, many families find that supplemental borrowing by the parent or student becomes an important resource to financing educational expenses. Please see "Are Loans a Good Idea?" for more detailed information.
Work-Study Employment
Funds earned by students for working part-time (average 10 hours per week) for employers on-campus. Students may earn wages up to the amount of their Work-Study award. Awards are made on the basis of need.
