Want to make a mark on the world? Spend a semester abroad in Uganda, Russia, or Latin America? Prepare for a calling in Bible translation for language groups without access to Scripture in their own language with Wycliffe Bible Translators; or get your certification to teach English to non-native speakers (TESOL). As a Global Studies major at Northwest Christian University, you can do all this in coursework aimed at preparing you for service in cross-cultural and intercultural settings.
In the Global Studies Program, you'll learn a framework of cross-cultural concepts including ministry, linguistics, culture, and communication. If you hope to live, work or serve abroad, Northwest Christian University will prepare you. It will also provide a Christian and liberal arts foundation that will ensure your learning is well-rounded and that your work is ethical and conducted in a way that is consistent with the highest Christian character.

Campus Activities
Global Studies majors can be found working with various local and international outreach organizations and ministries in the greater Eugene area. Students frequently lead or participate in missions teams, traveling to countries such as Bosnia, Haiti, China, and Romania for short-term missions or relief work. The TESOL Club is designed specifically for students who want to teach English to speakers of other languages. The club participates in various activities with people of other cultures, and attends conferences (such as Urbana) where they are able to discover other opportunities serving people around the globe.
