Communication

Are you fascinated by the way that some people are able to communicate effectively? Do you see the power and responsibility of being able to  influence others to different thinking or actions? If you would like to learn the art of using verbal and non-verbal language to inform, express, persuade, or reflect various ideas and messages, then Northwest Christian's communication major is for you.

Communication students at Northwest Christian University learn how messages influence people’s behavior. They also look at why various groups of a population are influenced by different messages. Communication majors spend a significant amount of time studying forms of oral and written communication and the strategies speakers and writers use to make their points and drive them home. As a practical application, communication majors at Northwest Christian can choose between concentrations in speech and journalism.

At Northwest Christian University, you will become a practitioner of effective communication preparing you for success in whatever career may follow, all in classes where a Christian and Liberal arts foundation will ensure that your work is ethical and conducted in a way that is consistent with the highest Christian character.

What Students Are Saying

“One of the most important things I’ve learned as a communication student at NCC is that even when I’m not speaking, I am still communicating. My attitudes, behaviors and non-verbal signals can be as much a witness to others as my words. It’s really cool to think that I can always communicate the love of Christ, even if it’s not always verbal .
