How did you arrive at Northwest Christian:
I was a student from ’92-’96 and earned a B.A. in pastoral ministry. I was serving a church in Lompoc, CA when I got a phone call inviting me to submit a resume for my current position. After giving it a lot of prayer and consideration, my wife and I both decided that this was definitely a God-thing and that we should do it.
What’s the most surprising thing about being here at Northwest Christian:
NCC has grown so quickly in so many ways! Our transformation into a Christian University is stunning, partly because of the rate of change. It creates its own set of challenges, but those challenges are truly exciting. When I think of what Northwest Christian University will be like in just a few short years, I really get fired up!
What is your favorite thing about the students, faculty, and staff at Northwest Christian?
The people of NCC are good people. Our students are great, with a ton of energy and ambition. Our faculty are dedicated to the students, and go out of their way to make the students’ dreams come true. And our support staff pours their heart and soul into their work everyday, often behind the scenes. Our maintenance, student services, student development, library, and academic support staff are the best. I’m humbled by the ways in which they give of themselves daily.
Advice for Incoming Students:
Come ready to work. Come with an open mind and an open heart. Come ready to be transformed.
I like my job because of…..
I love connecting with churches, alumni, and donors who love NCC and want to see it flourish. I really love the interactions that I have with students, like the students in our touring ensemble. They are the best.
If a friend or relative was considering Northwest Christian, and you had to describe the pace in a text message with only a few words, what would you honestly say?
NCC is a great place to be. Come and see for yourself.
